The Gulgong Holtermann Museum is delighted to host the 2022 Clay Gulgong Masters’ Exhibition.
This international ceramics exhibition features the works of artists who are leaders in their field. Although impacted by COVID, it has created a perfect opportunity to celebrate the outstanding ceramic artists from Australia and New Zealand and to remind ourselves of the wealth of creative and innovative talent that flourishes down under.
The works you will see in this exhibition are from artists who are highly regarded in the international field of ceramics. These works are held in many national and international, public and private collections.
Due to the pure clay deposits found in the region, potters have, for many years, been drawn to Gulgong. Now established globally, the Clay Gulgong International Ceramics Festival has built on that focus and has become one of the world’s ‘must attend’ events. It has firmly placed Gulgong on the international artists’ and collectors’ calendar.
The directors and delegates of Clay Gulgong have long been supporters of the Gulgong Holtermann Museum and have watched and supported its development. The Gulgong Holtermann Museum is delighted to acknowledge and celebrate that support by hosting the Masters’ Exhibition. The museum will also host the World Stage and Emerging Artist exhibition works and showcase some of the best ceramics made by Australian students from K-12. This is also a way of acknowledging the incredible work classroom teachers are pioneering and sustaining.
