Transition Photographs Merlin 1872 – Dingle 2022
150th Anniversary
Sydney based graphic designer and photographer Christopher Dingle has created an interesting collection of transition images by using 1872 Gulgong Holtermann Collection photographs and photographs of his own taken to celebrate the arrival of Henry Beaufoy Merlin and Charles Bayliss 150 years ago. The images are street scenes and have been taken from the same locations and overlayed in colour.
An exhibition was held in the Museum theatrette in June 2023 called the ‘Gulgong Then & Now”. Although this exhibit is no longer on display it is available to view in print on request, and souvenir items with transition photos are now available in the form mugs, postcards and prints.
